Our Christmas donation campaign

Bringing hope to the refugees in the Middle East
Dear Friends,
while a turbulent year is coming to its end, I want to address You, dear friends, for our yearly Christmas donation campaign.
This year again, I want to go to the Middle East to spend Christmas with the refugees. Hundreds of thousands of people in the war zones of Iraq and Syria, as well as in the surrounding countries, are still living in great misery. In the Sinjar mountains alone, there are 32.000 Yazidi families, still living without any support in the ruins of the war, or in primitive tent camps in the wilderness.
When I say celebrating Christmas, I don’t mean bringing toys and chocolate to the people. It’s not a symbolic gesture, it is about saving lives. Therefore, Your donations will be used for food bags. One month of food for a family costs 30$ in Syria and Turkey, 40$ in Iraq, 50$ in Lebanon, where many refugees are stranded. Life is more expensive there. With a food bag, we can ensure the survival of a family, respectively making their lives humane.
For the people in the Sinjar, we will bring them blankets again. A big blanket, that covers a whole family, costs 20$.
The Islamic State has withdrawn from vast parts of the area, so that we can reach new villages.
This is our Christmas donation campaign, and we wish to help as many as possible – with the help of Your donations.
For all the ones, who have excess or feel more committed to other areas of help, we have an extra- campaign: we are looking for 5000$ for a medical station in Guatemala. With this amount, the whole facility can be built. In middle of the jungle, the indigenous Mayan people live without any medical support. For example: Women give birth in the jungle. They often die, including their children, because the fetus did not turn inside the womb, as a result of vitamin deficiency. Only 5000$ make a difference to save those people.
Dear friends, I wish You a merry, very lovely Christmas time!
May God’s blessing be with You all
Yours,
Sister Hatune Dogan
