Christianity under Attack
Christians in more than 60 countries face persecution from their governments or their neighbors simply because they are Christians!
The list displays the countries where Christians are persecuted and is published every year by Open Doors worldwide.
A vast majority of these persecutions are conducted in Islamic countries.
Persecution of Christians reaches historic levels. Unfortunately, the circumstances are pointing at the fact, that the worst is yet to come.
Each day more than 10 Christians are killed for their faith, just because they are Christians. Every week more than 50 churches or Christian properties are demolished. Every year nearly 10.000 Christians are subjects to violence, such as beatings, captures, rapes, arrests and forced marriages – just because of their faith!
In the Middle East Christianity has nearly vanished. The cradle of our Christian culture has almost been wiped out. 1400 years of systematic persecution has minimized the Christian population throughout the former Judeo-Christian region. Now only Israel exists as a free society for Jews and Christians.
In Africa south of Sahara the persecution of Christians is accelerating and the reason is the increasing Islamization. Although the shattering results from Islamization all the way through history are numerous it seems like today’s western leaders are not able to see the elephant in the room, although the Islamists demand and attack from all sides, violently and rigorously. Outside as well as inside our societies.
It is time for all good men and women – Christians, agnostics, atheists, Buddhists and all others that realize, that the best of western culture is based upon Christianity – to stand up and reclaim Christian’s right to live in safety and peace wherever they are!
