Cautionary thoughts from the front of worldwide immigration to the West
Dear friends in the United States, please take a look at Europe. See, what the refugee crisis does to our continent – and learn. We know, that You have a different immigration policy, even though You still have a government, which is trying to drive up the number of immigrants, now also from the Middle East.
It is the sheer numbers, that Europe, especially Germany and Sweden can’t cope with. Last year, there were 1.5 Million immigrants, and this year, there may be even more, according to official authorities. They are still called refugees, even though about 92% of them do not come from a war zone.
Hundreds of thousands of the unknown
The true numbers are unknown, because there are still hundreds of thousands of unregistered immigrants all over Europe. Nobody knows, who they are and where they come from. There is much systematic lying about age and origin, many come with their new smartphones but without documents. Many have falsified documents, claim to be Syrians, to be able to apply for asylum. Everywhere in Northern Africa, mainly in Libya, the new haven of the Islamic State, false documents are sold, and people take crash courses in how to claim to be from Syria.
For some German politicians, this is still not enough. Some from the Left or the Green party demand a swift family unification, in Germany of course. That would bring the numbers to six to nine Million people, with only two years of open borders. How many immigrants are enough for those politicians?
There are many in the populace, that see mass immigration as the permanent fate of Europe. There is no way to stop it, so they say. Borders do not work. Among them are many, who wish the dissolving of Germany’s national identity, because of self-hatred or indifference towards their own country. Or they still dream about the equality of cultures and are happily looking forward to integrate a few million illiterates from pre-modern countries. A whole generation has sung John Lennon’s “Imagine”, until the line about ‘a world without countries’ became a constant delusion.
Migration experts estimate, that only in Africa, one third of the population is willing to migrate, and about 60 million people are on their way to Europe or in an effort to it.
No houses and no work
In Germany, there is no housing and no work for the immigrants. The authorities are totally overwhelmed. Even Ms. Merkel does not know, if they should stay or return home again.
In the meantime, the German government is going down hard upon critics of their policy in social media. They are branded as racists and Nazis, and the latter is still working quite well in Germany. Government is systematically obscuring the provenience of criminal perpetrators and is brightening the statistics – the videos about the weekly refugee crimes are a powerful counter publicity to that.
Women and girls are victims of sexual violence every day. In some cities, immigrants begin to organize themselves in gangs. Salafists go to the refugee camps to recruit new members. The religious minorities, like Christians and Yazidis are still subjected there to harassment and violence by the Muslim majority, sometimes even with the help from the Muslim guards.
Refugees – Immigrants – Terrorists
Exactly as IS has announced it, terrorists come with the stream of refugees to Europe. Last week, German police has arrested three young Syrians; they tried to execute a terror attack and were directly operated by Islamic State. They came as ’refugees.’ The week before, a major attack in Paris could be thwarted. The French interior minister is talking about the country being in a preliminary state of civil war. The infamous refugee camp in Calais is getting more and more a security issue for the whole region. Now, criminal migrants try to force their way into trucks going to England by building barricades in the highways at night.
The refugee crisis produces ever more absurd effects: in Sweden, authorities shall believe every immigrant up to an apparent age of 40, that he is an underage kid, if he claims so. By that he gets treatment in a special program for unaccompanied minors. In Germany, a Jihadist cannot be sent back to Afghanistan, because he threatened to perform a terror attack over there. He is deemed to be too dangerous – for Afghanistan. Refugees, that have approved asylum in Germany, make increasingly vacations in their home countries, where they fled from. At the pool in Mossul, the German taxpayer is picking up the tab for that too.
Merkel in denial
But Ms. Merkel, one year after opening the German borders, still says “we can make this!” (Wir schaffen das!). More and more, the Germans do not follow her on that. Her party, CDU, has been paying the bill of the voters in some regional elections, last in Berlin, where the party got the worst result ever. The “refugees welcome” enthusiasm in the population is over, because the problems cannot be covered up anymore.
What many people resent especially, is the dependence of German politics of the Turkish president and wannabe Caliph, Mr. Erdogan – he is supposed to hold the border to Greece closed for refugees.
The wind has turned against Ms. Merkel. Everywhere, she speaks, people are shouting, that she should resign, on many places, there is the slogan “Merkel must go!” (Merkel muss weg!).
The rest of Europe is not going with Merkel; she is totally isolated in her refugee policy. No country is willing to take any more refugees. Only the supranational apparatus of the European Union (EU) is supporting her.
Dear friends, there are also signs of hope: Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary are still resisting the refugee policy, ordered by the EU. Some of them are only willing to take Christian refugees. EU threatens them with money cutbacks, even expulsion out of the community, but the politicians feel bound by the will of their people, not by some orders out of the Central Committee in Brussels.
While many leaders in the Christian church, especially in Germany, have totally lost their minds and do not care for their brothers and sisters in need, i.e. the Christian refugees, the cardinal of Vienna, Christoph Schönborn, is talking straight: “Europe is about to gamble away its Christian heritage. (…) Will there be an Islamic conquest of Europe? Many Muslims wish that and say: Europe is finished.”
Signs of hope
In Sweden, there is a big reversal in the public opinion. In the pro immigrant country par excellence, now almost all politicians proclaim, what was deemed racist and fascist only months ago: a stop of refugee influx and fast expulsions of declined asylum seekers.
In Greece, private NGO’s have managed to set up a separate refugee camp for the Yazidis from the Shingal in North-Iraq. Aid now also goes into Camp Petra, near Idomeni. This place became too unsecure for the Yazidis, they have been harassed and violently attacked by Muslim refugees. Now it is possible to effectively help about 1300 victims of the war, who suffered most.
Dear friends, You see, there is much trouble with the so called refugee crisis; terrible failures, but also some wisdom and commitment, to deal with the issue in a decent way. Europe is the firewall for the USA in this issue. You do not have to repeat the mistakes of our policies. Pick the good stuff to help the real victims of terror and persecution.
The aid projects of the Hatune Foundation go on. We are helping the true refugees, together with our local partners, in Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon; as well as the Pakistani Christians, that are stuck in Bangkok. On the ground, in and outside the refugee camps, as well as in our projects in Warburg, Germany.
We are also relentless in our effort to bring information and awareness about the refugee crisis to the public. By facts, that are acquired through practical experience on the ground; or are common sense but are not ‘welcome’ in the public discussion. Like written above, there are finally more and more voices, that share our long held stances.
