Aleppo has been the center of fighting in the terrible war in Syria for many years now. Syria´s once beautiful city, the country´s second largest, lays in ruins and in total chaos. While it is difficult to determine, who is fighting whom in this conflict, one thing is painfully clear: The real victims, the ones that suffer the consequences, are the civilians. Hatune soon will be travelling to the city again, to bring food, money, and some hope.

Straight talk from Sister Hatune in her speech in Auenheim, Baden Württemberg, making a very strong case for a different approach to the refugee policy. And she is very clear in her opinion about the Muslim refugees coming to Europe: We have let the wolves in, while the sheep are still abroad.
A few words of caution about the refugee crisis, that has placed our continent at the epicenter of the mass immigration to the West. Droves of migrants are all claiming to be refugees, seeking for asylum in Europe. Germany´s open-door policy, in accord with the EU, is not helping matters. Luckily, other countries in Europe are resisting this policy, if anything, they are willing to accept only Christian refugees.
Intellectuals meet in a panel discussion about Islamism at Berlin´s International Literature Festival. The debate centered mainly around the issues Islamic State vs. Islam. One panelist argued, Islamic State had nothing to do with Islam, by its beliefs and actions. A very different view of the reality was provided by Professor Kizilhan, PhD in Orientalism and Phychology, with on the ground- experience in helping traumatized victims of the Islamic State.
In response to a question from a faithful reader, we take the opportunity to explain the dire circumstances that the Coptic Christians faces in Egypt, and the difficulties encountered by the Hatune Foundation on delivering its aid work. But regardless of the many obstacles, our foundation manages to bring aid to those that really need it.
